Research:

  • Use of dung beetles in monitoring of ecosystem health (Consultancy carried out for WWF and TANAPA Udzungwa mts National Park, 2006 and 2008). The reports can be found online at http://www.udzungwacentre.org/mrd.asp?code=23). I have continued with the work as an independent research area, together with my M.Sc. and Ph.D. students.
  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the proposed Rushungi Access Road Construction, Kilwa District (Consultancy carried out for STATOIL Company, submitted to EcoTek (Tanzania) Ltd. (1912).
  • Werema, C., John, J., Nyundo, B.A., Bartazar, R. and Damian, J. (2013) Dry season baseline studies of fauna of Aga Khan University Project, Arusha. A Consultancy Report of the Department of Zoology and Wildlife Conservation, University of Dar es Salaam, Submitted to CECL Consult Ltd (October, 2013).
  • Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for the proposed East African Crude Oil Pipeline, from Chongoleani, Tanga to Minziro, Kagera (Consultancy carried out for STATOIL Company, submitted to RSK (UK) Ltd. (2017-2018).
  • East Africa Lepidoptera Pollinator Biodiversity – A research Project carried out in collaboration with National Museum of Kenya, National Museum and House of Culture,  Tanzania, and Makerere University (2017-2019). The project funded by JRS, USA, involved digitization and online publication of sphingid moths (Sphingidae), swallowtails (Papilionidae) and skippers (Hesperiidae) found in collections of various institutions in the three East African countries, plus fresh collections of Lepidopterans in the three target families.
